What’s Our Plan?
What are we going to do?
No, really people, we need a plan. Help me with this, how do we begin?Honestly, I’ve been avoiding facebook lately, for other reasons that felt a bit creepy to me.
Today … I avoid facebook because here we are again, not just one but two mass shootings and we’re all angry, hurt, and helpless again. Collectively, we want to fix everything, but it’s just facebook. Who’s listening and reading? Our friends who are on the same side.
Seriously, how ARE we going to create real change in this country? We can leave, we can move to another country if they will have us. But do we abandon the completely broken, our homeland, and never look back? I suck at that, as any of my exes can attest to. My mom didn’t leave the broken, she taught us to help them.
We have a corrupt clan in our government, including our leader, who condone the hate and arrogance, who enable the shooters and the NRA, and an organization paying big money to stay in the game. None of these humans know the gruesome reality of bloodshed. None of them have been witness to a room of people covered in blood, children down. This is not to say that I have, but I have a heart and suffer true empathy for others. I value every human life, even the lives of those I can’t understand.
I sit in traffic thinking about our President, trying to understand why he incites so much hatred in his own country, why he has so many supporters who see his bigotry and hatred and cheer him forward. I used to think some gun violence instances were possibly a mental illness problem, but we are so far beyond this. We have a hatred disease in this country, instilled by our leader.
He incites hatred, and his followers get their guns out, photograph them, put them on facebook, and commit mass murder. Do we grow numb, hardened or used to this? I so no, never. We grow helpless, hands tied, a sick government that nobody knows how to fix.
So, come on people, what is our plan. Our plan needs to involve action, whether that be marching or an eye for an eye. What is our plan?
