Are Distractions Intentional?

A client just wrote me an email outlining her thoughts for our next session. Right at the close of her email, she posed a thoughtful question.

It seems that as she started listening to her inner voice more and following her personal dreams, more ‘distractions’ or interruptions have come into play. Her question was, are these a test or new ‘levels’, new devils?

I’m curious what your thoughts may be on this. My theory is that whether we are busy following our dreams or making apple pie, we need to level up to these calls and distractions. In other words, for me, we need to find our focus, remember to sit with joy and gratitude when we feel the distraction come on.

Life does send us little tests now and then to determine how true we are to our mission, and occasionally we may fail. I recently did a podcast on this topic, because I did spend two entire days in fail mode before I caught myself and leveled up.

I would love to hear feedback, do you think life intentionally disrupts our flow? What are your techniques to get back in focus, or back ‘on your mat’?
